La playa de Rubina en Empuriabrava is one of the most complete of the Empordà
EMPURIABRAVA / CATALONIA / SPAIN:
The Town Hall in Castelló d'Empúries has long been looking for a solution to find a balance between tourist use and respect for the environment on Rubina beach in Empuriabrava and this has been well done for a few years. The beach is divided into three zones: a larger one for normal summer operation, a part reserved for the kitesurfers and on one piece you can even carry out your dogs and it is one of the few areas of Alt Empordà where this is allowed. On the other hand, the nature reserve Aiguamolls begins immediately, which has to be preserved and it was necessary to ensure that not everyone enters this zone and unconsciously intervenes in a natural area. This limit should not be strict, but smoothly go over and also not immediately unpleasant eye. So you have created natural barriers and usually everyone is aware that in this area has lost nothing. The Town Hall in Castelló says that the current solution for all sides is optimal and you can have fun on the beach and on the other hand, the nature is protected. The work and projects have been implemented in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment and to provide the greatest possible service to visitors, they have integrated parking zones, installed clear and descriptive signage, clearly assigned the individual beach zones to their users and built bicycle racks near the beach shacks.
